We commissioned Development Reimagined to conduct an independent, in-depth report focused on Lessons from the EU experience with Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in tackling the online sale of counterfeit goods in China. The research was based on a review of legal cases, data from businesses and online platforms, and drew on over 30 surveys and in-depth interviews conducted across China and the EU. During the project, Development Reimagined worked closely and efficiently with the IP Key China team and the Delegation of the European Union to China, responding quickly and constructively to new priorities and feedback we provided on the first draft to provide an excellent output. The Development Reimagined team presented the report to audiences including China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) in Dec 2019 and Jan 2020, and we received very positive feedback. We very much appreciate Development Reimagined’s ability to bring together, at very short notice, a multidisciplinary and diverse team to deliver this report within a limited budget and tight timeframe.– EU government delegation
We very much appreciate Development Reimagined’s vast expertise and knowledge on the China-Africa relationship, providing the backdrop for … a pioneering bilingual report published by UNAIDS and the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products (CCCMHPIE) highlighting the vast opportunities for Chinese pharmaceutical companies to relocate their manufacturing to African countries – not only to provide cheaper, high-quality drugs, but also jobs, technology, and skills transfer. Development Reimagined also designed and facilitated a key "orientation to China" for over 20 senior African policy makers and industry figures, who had an opportunity to meet first-hand the pharmaceutical industry leaders and stakeholders in China, and actively seek business leads and strategic partnerships. The DR team’s insights and professionalism were commended by participants of the orientation and the report has been widely used and advertised.– international non-governmental organization (NGO)
We worked with Development Reimagined to design a pioneering project for the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP). Development Reimagined undertook detailed research and first-hand interviews with Chinese government and business contacts, with a particular focus on current and future interactions in poorer countries. The project resulted in a clear and concise scoping study for internal review, with 2 clear recommendations for potential projects in 2 countries, as well as a well-received, bilingual, externally published Knowledge Brief: “China’s Global Cool: The potential for more and better South-South cooperation on efficient, clean cooling from China”. We appreciate very much Development Reimagined’s expertise and ability to create a robust methodology, resulting in a timely and well-received scoping study and Knowledge Brief.
